On August 14, 2021 local time, Tan Jiuchang, General Manager of the Group and Deputy Commander of the Uganda Project, met with Mr. Henry, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uganda, and the two sides had in-depth exchanges on the construction and development of Wagagai Mining Company. Mr. Tan introduced the scale and strength of the Group's domestic mining companies to Minister Henry, focusing on the current construction and future planning of Wagagai Mining company. Mr. Tan pointed out that after the Wagagai Mining company is put into operation, the degree of mechanization will be higher and the scale of development will be larger. Minister Henry expressed his admiration for the scale of the Group's domestic mining industry and mechanized mining. He hoped to see Wagagai Mining company put into operation as soon as possible. He said: "This will be a significant milestone in the history of Uganda's mining industry, and it will surely shock Uganda and even the African continent."
The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on the history of China-Uganda friendship, employment and training of local employees, corporate taxation and public welfare undertakings, current construction problems and development needs. Minister Henry said that he attached great importance to the friendship between the people of China and Uganda, expressed that he would fully support the development of Wagagai Mining company of Hongda Group, and urged the Chinese Ambassador to Uganda to meet with Mr. Tan, and would invite the President of Uganda to participate the foundation laying ceremony in October.
After the meeting and exchange, Mr. Tan took a photo with Minister Henry and his family.
